
With the aim of promoting micro-entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka, the Industrial Development Board (IDB), operating under the Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, Unilever Sri Lanka Limited and the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 28.03.2025 under the patronage of the Secretary to the Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, Ms. Thilaka Jayasundara. The MoU was signed by the Chairman of the Industrial Development Board, Mr. Ravi Nissanka, the Chairman and CEO of Unilever Sri Lanka Limited, Mr. Ali Tariq and the Chairperson of the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC), Ms. Gayani de Alwis, at a ceremony held at the Hilton Residence Hotel in Colombo.
Regional Development Bank Chairman Lasantha Fernando, Industrial Development Board Chairman Ravi Nissanka, Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce Chairperson Gayani de Alwis, Ministry officials including Additional Secretaries of the Ministry of Industries, Industrial Development Board officials, Unilever Sri Lanka officials, micro-scale entrepreneurs and a group of others participated in this event.
