The Industrial Development Board of Sri Lanka has established 16 industrial estates across the country to provide infrastructure facilities for industrialists. This initiative aims to enhance the gross domestic economy by improving production standards and guiding industrialists toward the export market.
To further support this effort, the government has launched an accelerated program to upgrade these industrial estates and enhance their productivity.
As part of this initiative, the Deputy Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, Mr. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, conducted an inspection tour of the Ekala Industrial Estate on February 14, 2025. The visit aimed to address the needs and challenges faced by industrialists operating within the estates. The Chairman of the Industrial Development Board, Mr. Ravi Nissanka, and the Director of the Industrial Estates Division, Mr. Srimal Jayathilaka, also participated in the event.
