IDB and Ceylon Federation of MSMEs sign historic MoU

“Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises have a leading role in an entrepreneurial culture”

In order to make the concept of building an export-oriented manufacturing economy a reality, the  Industrial Development Board is already launching a planned program for the development of micro, small and medium scale entrepreneurs who have more space in the entrepreneurial society, and for that the support of micro, small and medium scale entrepreneurs is being launched. It is a unique opportunity for the Industrial Development Board to enter into an agreement with the Micro, Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs Forum as it is practically, actively and necessary, said the Chairman of the  Industry Development Board  Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma.

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Forum recently signed a bilateral MoU with the Industrial Development Board. On behalf of the Industrial Development Board, its chairman, Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma, and on behalf of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Forum, its chairman, Mrs. Sasika De Silva, signed.
Through this MoU, the Ceylon Industries Development Board will take steps to encourage and support micro, small and medium entrepreneurs to create an environment suitable for entrepreneurship by solving their problems.

The event saw the participation of the Federation’s Board members, including Vice Presidents S.N. Raghavan and Mahendra Perera, Treasurer Shohan Wijesinghe, Director Yasasiri Rodrigo, National Organiser Ajith Kumara, Secretary Nandalal Lekamge, and Founder Suran Weerarathne. Their presence highlighted the collective commitment towards fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sri Lanka. From the IDB, its Director General H.M.S. Samarakoon, and Director Regional Development P.P.P.S. Dikwella, Director Industrial Estates I.M.J. Illangakoon, and the staff were present.
