Industrial Development Board of Ceylon (IDB) got into an MoU with Federation of Information Technology (Guarantee) Limited (FITIS) on 18th January 2024, a company Incorporated under the Companies Act No 7 of 2007 who is the apex Information & Communication Technology (ICT) body in the ICT industry with 200+ member companies, to establish a long-term partnership with IDB to assist Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) under 25 different industry sectors and 162 sub sectors to digitally transform and enable them to contribute to the government’s digital economy initiative. The Industrial Development Board’s chairman, Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma, and the Chairman of FITIS, Mr. Indika De Zoysa, discussed the significance of this MoU and how to provide technology support to SMEs and thereby transform the way they do their businesses in a more efficient and effective manner and also to develop ICT as a main industry focusing export revenue. To grace this event the representatives of FITIS, Mr. Jayasiri Amarasena the CEO, Mr. Sanjaya Dayananda the VP – Global Alliances & Partnerships, Millenium IT Mr. H. M. S. Samarakoon, Director General of IDB and officials from IDB, IT Unit also took part.
