Technical Services Division (TSD) of Industrial Development Board (IDB) successfully completed the “Project for Development of Cosmetic Industry Sector in Sri Lanka through Technology Enhancement and Financial Assistance”.

The certificate awarding ceremony was held on 11.01.2024 at Lakkam Auditorium, IDB with the participation of Dr.Saranga Alahapperuma, the Chairman- IDB and the officials of the Ministry of Industries.

Seventeen (17) cosmetic products industries gained project benefits as project beneficiaries.

Project time period was September, 2023 to December, 2023 funded by Ministry of Industries. Project facilitated financial assistance for product testing to enhance the quality of cosmetic products and 03 days capacity building training programs consisted with cosmetic product registrations from relevant institutes, Standards and certifications, Quality assessment of cosmetic products, Packaging and labeling, Machineries, Marketing strategies and Export procedures. All the training sessions were oriented to enhance the knowledge of cosmetic manufacturers to success in cosmetic industry. Apart from that, industry visit was facilitated to the cosmetic industries to gain sound industry environment to develop their existing industries.
