Project of Facilitating Industries to Obtain ISO 45001:2018 Certification

The Industrial Development Board (IDB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, invites applications from local industries to obtain ISO 45001:2018 certification under a project aimed at enhancing industrial competitiveness, export readiness, and quality standards.

  1. Major activities of the Project
    • 02 days training program on requirements of ISO 45001 standard
    • Health and Safety Risk Assessments
    • ISO 45001: 2018 standard Implementation in selected facilities
    • One-day Internal Auditor Training
    • Auditing and Certification process
  1. Eligibility
    • Must be a local manufacturing industry with at least 60% local ownership.
    • Preference will be given to manufacturing industries with significant occupational health and safety risks and/or export oriented or export ready industries.
    • Must have been in commercial production for at least two (02) consecutive years.
    • Must not be registered with any state institution for the same certification.
  1. Benefits for those who are registered in the Project
    • Comprehensive training and consultancy services for establishing the ISO 45001:2018 Standard at a highly subsidized rate
    • Two years’ certification fee up to the maximum of Rs. 200,000/- will be reimbursed upon the submission of certificate.
    • Continuous guidance from the IDB.
  1. Selection Criteria
    • Selection will be based on the information provided in the application and the interview.
    • The selection of industries will be carried out by an independent evaluation panel using a predetermined marking scheme based on the established eligibility and selection criteria.
    • Applicants obtaining the highest marks will be selected for the project.
  2. Submission Deadline
    Applications must be submitted on or before, 20th July,2026

The following should be clearly indicated on the top left-hand corner of the envelope:
