The Industrial Development Board (IDB), Sri Lanka’s apex government agency for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) development, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the LK Domain Registry on 21st May 2024. Industrial Development Board (IDB) Chairman Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma and Prof Gihan Dias CEO of LK Domain Registry signed for this MOU.
This strategic partnership aims to empower Sri Lankan SMEs by:
Enhancing Online Presence: Facilitating domain name registration for SMEs at special rates, allowing them to establish a strong online identity.
Digital Transformation Support: Providing SMEs with resources and guidance to leverage the power of the internet for business growth.
Building a Thriving Digital Ecosystem: Collaborating to create a supportive environment for SMEs to thrive in the digital age.
This MoU signifies IDB and LK Domain Registry’s commitment to:
Bridging the Digital Divide: Equipping SMEs with the tools and knowledge to bridge the digital gap and compete effectively via DigiGo and numerous digital applications developed by IDB (IDB Training LMS, Bizconnect, Business Clinic & Ceylon Plaza etc.)
Boosting Sri Lanka’s Economy: Supporting the growth and success of SMEs, which are the backbone of the Sri Lankan economy.
