  • Sri Lanka’s first dedicated TV channel ‘Industry TV’ is launched.

Industry TV channel was launched on 21.11.2023 as the first electronic television channel for Sri Lankan industry in order to build an export-oriented manufacturing economy in the country.

Its opening ceremony was held at the Government Information Department under the chairmanship of the Minister of Industry and Health, Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, and the participation of the Minister of State for Small and Medium Enterprise Development, Mr. Prasanna Ranaweera.

Launched in conjunction with World Television Day, this channel will be broadcast on Peo TV No. 130 and will operate under the theme Your Winning Line.

The introductory broadcast will run from November 21 to November 30, and from December 1, Industry News, Industry Talks, Work Spaces, Plus Mind, Help Desk, Entrepreneurship King Children, Industrial Zone, Money Talk, I Book, Brands, Investor Pool, Metal World, Tea Life, Plantation World, Travel Bazar, Business Shakti, Business Clinic, Industry Frame etc. 40 different types of programs are included for broadcasting in Industry TV channel.

In order to guide the local budding entrepreneurs, 2 training manuals called Start up and Scale up prepared by the Sustainable Entrepreneur Development Approach (SEDA) of the Ceylon Industrial Development Board for the entrepreneurs themselves were launched and a certificate for the first time in Sri Lanka for the local entrepreneurs by starting the national program to make entrepreneurs socially proud. , a professional ID card and a car pass were also given today.

Also, for the 2023 National Industry Excellence Awards ceremony, the honorable jury selected 300 entrepreneurs out of 4000 entrepreneurs for the awards, and the Minister of Industry and Health, Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, also presented the awards. Apart from that, the factories that have contributed to the advancement of the manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka by using the world’s new technology in their products were also evaluated here.
