Trained consultants have a prominent place in building an entrepreneurial culture in the country.

“In order to practically win the economic development in our country, we must build an export-oriented manufacturing economy, and for that, we must create an entrepreneurial culture in this country, and to provide proper guidance to the existing industrial entrepreneurs and future industrial entrepreneurs in the task of expanding that role to the grassroots level. The Chairman of the Ceylon Industrial Development Board, Mr. Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma said that the Industrial Development Board has started training industrial entrepreneurship training consultants for the first time.

He said this at the recently held at the Ratmalana Water Resources Auditorium at the ceremony of awarding certificates to the instructors who completed the training workshop for Industrial Entrepreneurship Training Instructors organized by the Industrial Development Board.

This industrial entrepreneurship training mentor course was held for 10 days, and 34 scholars representing various academic professions participated in it. During this ten-day workshop, the students who participated in the workshop were given practical knowledge through a syllabus containing strategies for starting new industrial enterprises, effectively developing existing enterprises, and developing the entrepreneurial skills of the students.

The students with various skills who participated in this workshop expressed their views appreciating the knowledge they gained through this ten-day course. He also stated that they will contribute their maximum to the economic development of the country and will take steps to provide training to entrepreneurs for that purpose.

Mr. Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma, Chairman of  Industrial Development Board, who spoke further, said:
“To the more than 500 staff of the Industrial Development Board, we welcome you all as new members. We hope that your contribution will continue to support our organization, which leads to create an entrepreneurial culture to build an export-oriented manufacturing economy. In fact, to build our business scientifically and strategically, I request you to give your knowledge as an additional teaching to entrepreneurs across the country and build them strong.”

The Director General of  Industrial Development Board HMS Samarakoon, Director (Entrepreneurship Development) Renuka Jayalath, Director (Regional Development) PPPS Dickwella, Deputy Director (Entrepreneurship Development) Ranjith Padmalal, gentlemen participated in this event. .
